GET OUT OF THE LOOP

Build a team that owns decisions, solves problems, and moves without waiting for you.

A 10–12 week 1:1 leadership coaching program for tech founders and senior engineering leaders whose teams depend on them too much.

Your team is capable.

But somehow, every important decision, escalation, and problem still finds its way back to you.

It often looks like this:

  • You start the day with your priorities… and end it solving everyone else’s problems.

  • Every time you delegate, it comes back as another question, review, or decision.

  • Your team waits for your approval, so even one day away leaves a pile of decisions waiting for your return.

  • You know you should step back… but you’re afraid the quality, pace, or standards will drop when you do.

  • Your role keeps getting bigger, but you’re still carrying responsibilities your team should have outgrown.

The problem isn’t that your team needs better instructions.

It’s that you’ve become part of how everything gets done.

Dependency is rarely created intentionally.

It happens one reasonable decision at a time.

You answer because it’s faster.

You review because the standard matters.

You step in because the deadline is close.

You solve the problem because you already know how.

In the short term, the work gets done.

Over time, your team learns to wait… and you become the system holding everything together.

The result is a team that looks capable from the outside but still needs you to keep everything moving.

GET OUT OF THE LOOP

Get Out of the Loop is a 10–12 week 1:1 coaching program designed to break that dependency without losing visibility, lowering the bar, or abandoning your team.

This isn’t another course to complete.

There are no long modules, generic exercises, or hours of homework.

We work directly with the decisions, delegations, meetings, and escalations already happening in your week.

You don’t need to find extra time for the program.

Your real leadership situations become the work.

The FITS Framework

F — Find the dependency

Map where and why your team keeps coming back to you, and what that dependency is costing you and the team.

I — Interrupt the pattern

Change the leadership habits and team routines that keep the dependency alive.

T — Transfer ownership

Move decisions and responsibilities back to the team with clear expectations, boundaries, and accountability.

S — Stay out of the loop

Maintain visibility and high standards without taking ownership back when pressure rises.

What changes after 10–12 weeks?

The work is built around outcomes you can see and measure.

The goal is to help you:

  • Reclaim 5+ hours every week for strategy and the work only you can do.

  • Delegate outcomes without chasing updates, rewriting the work, or taking it back… even when your team approaches it differently.

  • Create clear decision boundaries so your team brings recommendations instead of unresolved problems.

  • Remove yourself from at least one recurring meeting without creating confusion or slowing the team down.

  • Take time off without quietly monitoring Slack or preparing for the mess waiting when you return.

The goal isn’t to make you less involved.

It’s to make your involvement intentional.

How the program works

Over 10–12 weeks, we work privately on the real situations currently keeping you in the loop.

Together, we will:

  • Map where your team still depends on you.

  • Identify the behaviors and routines reinforcing that dependency.

  • Decide what ownership should move, and to whom.

  • Create clear decision and escalation boundaries.

  • Apply the changes through your existing work.

  • Track what happens when you step back.

  • Adjust the system without automatically taking ownership back.

You won’t receive hours of additional work to complete between sessions.

Instead, you’ll test small, deliberate changes inside the meetings, decisions, and conversations already happening in your week.

This program is for you if:

  • You’re a tech founder, CTO, VP, Head, Director, or senior Engineering Manager.

  • You lead a capable team but remain involved in too many operational decisions.

  • Your responsibilities have grown, but your old responsibilities haven’t disappeared.

  • Delegation still requires too much checking and follow-up.

  • You want more time for strategy without losing visibility or lowering standards.

  • You’re ready to change not only what your team does, but also how you lead it.

Why work with me?

I bring 15+ years in tech and 13+ years in engineering leadership across startups and global enterprises.

More importantly, I’ve lived this transition myself… from a Team Lead involved in every decision to a senior manager whose teams operate and decide independently.

Since then, I’ve coached engineers and leaders to reclaim their time, set clearer boundaries, and stop carrying responsibilities that should belong to their teams.

This isn’t leadership theory developed from the outside.

It’s practical work grounded in the situations engineering leaders face every day.

Frequently asked questions

Is this a course?

No. There are no long modules or generic lessons to complete. The program is built around your real team, decisions, responsibilities, and current leadership situations.

How much additional time will it require?

The work is designed to fit into what you’re already doing. Instead of adding hours of homework, we use your existing meetings, delegations, and decisions to test and apply changes.

Does stepping out of the loop mean losing control?

No. The goal is to replace constant involvement with clear visibility, decision boundaries, and accountability. You remain informed without remaining responsible for everything.

Is this therapy?

No. This is practical leadership coaching focused on team dependency, delegation, ownership, decision-making, and the way work moves through your organization.

Will my team need to attend?

The program starts with you. The changes are introduced through the way you delegate, set boundaries, run meetings, and respond when the team brings work back to you.

What happens on the Fit Call?

We’ll map where your team currently depends on you, discuss what you’ve already tried, and determine whether Get Out of the Loop is the right program for your situation.

You shouldn’t need to choose between staying in control and finally getting your time back.

Let’s build both.
